Penalty Phase Should Take About 30 Minutes

I don't even know where to begin.

Brian Nichols, known to most as the Atlanta courthouse shooter, was recently convicted on 54 counts including murder, kidnapping and assorted other felonies. All of these crimes occurred in the conduct of a previous escape attempt where he overpowered a female sheriff assigned to escort him to court. On that day he beat her causing permanent disfigurement, killed a judge, a court reporter, another deputy and later a US Customs agent.

Several times while awaiting trial this time it was discovered that he continued to make plans to escape and often guards would find weapons or plans in one stage of completion or another. Now comes word that a member of the defense team may have been helping.
The person in question is a paralegal and not one of the numerous lawyers, whom were paid over $2 million dollars in taxpayer money to defend this scum. In addition to the paralegal this witness also alleges that one of the deputies assigned to guard him may have also been involved in the scheme to help him escape.

Lisa Meneguzzo, a Connecticut businesswoman who developed a romantic attachment to Nichols, testified at Nichols’ trial in Superior Court that she conspired with Tamela Hysten, a paralegal assisting Nichols’ lawyers, to get $1,500 in bribe money to an unidentified deputy at the Fulton County Jail.

The trial of Brian Nichols is in the punishment phase right now. The jury must make a decision on the death penalty. Given the testimony that has taken place this week, it should take them all of 30 minutes to reach that decision...that is including a 15 minute smoke break.
